On Tuesday 12th December, 2023, the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District NSS Secretariat organized a day orientation to officially welcome all the national service personnel who had been posted to the district. Some of the dignitaries who graced the program were the District Chief Executive in the person of Mr.Willyevans Obiri Awuah, the District Coordinating Director Dr. John Agbemenu Nunya, the District Educational Director, and NSS District Director Mrs. Juliana Ghartey.
Mrs. Juliana Ghartey officially welcome all the personnel to Abura Asebu Kwamankese as they began their one- year mandatory national service. She again advised the personnel to be very careful in dealing with their fellow community members, co-tenant, co-workers in order not found themselves in any trouble.
ADMINISTRATIVE POLICIES:
- Administrative charge 20% of every personnel (Posted to private company) monthly allowance must be paid by private agencies for the personnel certificate.
- Administrative charge 10% of every personnel who is already on salary for their certificate after the service.
SPEECH / ADVICE FROM THE DIGNITARIES:
GES (H.R) – MR. ZARDORK SAARKWAA: He said that, national service is an exercise that prepare you to be useful to your community and the country as well. It is also mandatory for every personnel to take part in other to build your capabilities. In addition, we have to behave well at where we are posted to. He shared his life experience as an example to the personnel.
DCE (MR.WILLYEVANS OBIRI AWUAH): Issues of the allowance. He encourage the personnel that, even though the allowance is not yet in but we should manage with it and it will surely come. He further explained that, the permanent staff are facing challenge but still coping with that. The personnel should manage with what they have. He quoted some proverb that (cut your coat according to your size). Some ETHICS from DCE, personnel should not be too knowing or boast on what they known. Personnel should try to be obedient, well dressed and God fearing people.
PRESENTATION BY THE NSS DIRECTOR
Ms Juliana Ghartey (District Director), urged the organized personnel to recite the NASPA anthem (ARISE GHANA YOUTH FOR YOUR COUNTRY). She gave us the brief history of how NASPA was been formed. NASPA was formed in the year 1973 operating under Act 426 (of 1980). Vision: Leader in Youth Service. Mission: mobilize and deploy Ghanaian citizens of 18 years and above for national development. SLOGAN: “Service to the Nation” etc. She added that, the NSS Office within the district is facing a challenge, that is (inadequate field materials) to support the service.

Our total number of NSP’s this year 2023/2024 is 97 which comprises of subverted, study leave personnel, and those posted to private institutions.
