Quality data is important for planning and informed decision making as it contributes to monitoring and evaluation of development programs.<\/p>\n<h2>Vision:<\/h2>\n<p>the department aspires to provide reliable and responsive statistical services for good governance and development, especially at the District level.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>FUNCTIONS:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Collect compile, store and analyze data based on standardized formats developed by GSS<\/li>\n<li>Provide inputs for the preparation of the Assembly\u2019s budget<\/li>\n<li>Generate the data requirements of the Assembly on all departments for planning purposes<\/li>\n<li>Monitor statistical enquiries\/surveys within the District<\/li>\n<li>Disseminate and publish statistical data based on guidelines developed by GSS<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;Promote Statistical Literacy and Research&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;Advice the district assembly on all matters relating to statistics<\/li>\n<li>Respond to data request by clients (Institutions and Individuals)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>UNITS:<\/h4>\n<p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Field Operations Unit<\/p>\n<p>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Data Entry and Analysis Unit<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Statistics is responsible for the collection, compilation, storage and analysis of data to enhance evidence-based decision making at all levels.
