The Planning and Building Inspectorate Unit together with the Hon. District Chief Executive and the District Co-ordinating Director met with the Moree Alata Landowners Representatives to have a discussion on the development on going at the Alata Moree new site. This was to sensitize them on what a layout was and the need to acquire one before lands could be sold to individual developers.
Hon. DCE informed Nananom and elders that, most applications that do not have layout do not qualify to be granted permit to build and for that matter, it slows down development. He mentioned that, the purpose for which the law was stressing on layout was so they could reserve lands for roads, schools, hospitals and other social amenities so they did not deprive individuals of these social amenities.
somedemolitions notice was given to those buildings without permits and urged the owners to secure a permit before building commences.
