Green Ghana Day

The 11th of June, 2021 was declared Green Ghana Day by the Ministry Of lands and Natural Resources, under the auspices of the Presidency. The focus of this exercise was to plant 5 million trees across the country. The Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District Assembly got heavily involved in the exercise with its own target to plant 50,000 trees within the District. The programme was launched  at  Wusorekrom with the Hon. Member of Parliament for AAK, Hon. Elvis Morris Donkoh , the Hon. DCE for AAKDA, Madam Felicia Aba Hagan as well as Directors of public institutions and key dignitaries planting trees in the Wusorekrom D/A Basic School. 

At the event, the Chairperson for the occasion, Mrs. Justine Appau ( District Director for Ghana Education Service) charged the students and community members presents to ensure the survival of the trees and also to plant more trees to reverse the unhealthy trend of global warming.
