PLANTING FOR EXPORT AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT (PERD), UNDER THE ALTERNATIVE LIVELIHOOD PROJECT (ALP), MINERALS COMMISSION-GHANA

The department of Food and Agriculture put in a request for improved coconut and oil palm seedlings under the alternative livelihood project by the minerals commission, Ghana for supply to farmers in Abura Asebu Kwamenkase District. This was to support the government of Ghana flagship programme “Planting for Export Rural Development” programme being spearheaded by the District Assembly through the Department of Food And Agriculture. A total of 1,800 acres (108,000 seedlings) of coconut seedlings and 1,620 acres (97,200 seedlings) of oil palm seedlings were requested.
