The unveiling of the Skills towards Employability and Productivity (STEP) project and presentation of start-up kits in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District were held on Friday, 20th January 2023. The Project is being implemented and sponsored by the Government of Ghana and beneficiaries were selected out of 265 communities in the District. Government of Ghana is paying for the full cost of the apprenticeship fees, and provide tools and materials needed for the training. Skill trainers would also be paid by government.
The project areas are:
- Satellite Dish Installation
- Dress Making
- Cosmetology
- Hair Dressing
The Member of Parliament for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese Constituency, Hon. Elvis Morris Donkor was commended for lobbying for the project which will better the livelihoods of beneficiaries. Skills Trainers were urged to nurture the first batch of beneficiaries of the project as seeds being sown which germinate and multiply to the benefit of themselves, families, communities, district, region and Ghana as a whole if proper care is given to them.
