Residents of Nyamedom, have been implored to do away with political partisanship during clean-up campaigns in their communities.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District, Hon. Willyevans Obiri Awuah made the appeal during the monthly clean-up campaign at Nyamedom.
He stressed that the canker of towing the lines of political parties when residents are called upon to clean their surroundings has created apathy, which has led to the accumulation of filth in the environment.
He mentioned that contracting of diseases was not based on one’s political affiliation.
The DCE praised the participants for their strong communal spirit and encouraged them to do more to raise the standard of sanitation in the community.
In order to ensure efficiency, the participants broke into three groups: two groups worked on the drains near the lorry station and Kayefi; the other group cleaned the refuse dump at Zongo.
After the end of the exercise, the DCE presented some roofing sheets and Wellington boots to the community.
